inacoustic can assist with planning applications for residential and commercial schemes throughout the UK. We can produce standalone noise assessments or full Environmental Noise Chapters, for inclusion in a wider Environmental Impact Assessment.

Residential Schemes

Noise needs to be considered when new residential developments would be sensitive to the prevailing acoustic environment, typically from road, rail, industrial or airplane noise.

For new residential developments, the prevailing acoustic environment may need to be considered during the planning application, to ensure that the site is suitable for habitation.

Our team has considerable experience in assessing the suitability of residential schemes, having been involved in developments ranging from 10 houses to over 300 houses, on sites throughout in the UK.

New residential developments are typically assessed in accordance with BS8233:2014, BS4142:2014, World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines, PPG24 and TAN8.

Site work for site-specific noise assessments typically begins within five working days. On-site measurements typically range between one to seven days, with the technical report delivered within five working days of on-site measurements being completed.

For companies developing large numbers of residential schemes, we offer a fixed fee framework agreement for on-site noise assessments, wherever the sites may be in the UK. Please call any of our offices to discuss how we can assist you with setting up a fixed fee framework agreement.

Commercial Schemes

Noise needs to be considered when new developments may create additional noise to the prevailing acoustic environment.

Typically, for commercial developments, the prevailing acoustic environment needs to be considered during the planning application, to ensure that the proposed development does not impact on the existing nearest noise sensitive receptors.

Our team has considerable experience in assessing the suitability of commercial schemes, having been involved in developments ranging from single air conditioning units, waste transfer stations, and factories, on sites throughout in the UK.

New commercial developments are typically assessed in accordance with BS4142:2014 or BS4142:1997.

Site work for site-specific noise assessments typically begins within five working days. On-site measurements typically range between one to seven days, with the technical report delivered within five working days of on-site measurements being completed.

For companies developing large numbers of commercial schemes, we offer a fixed fee framework agreement for on-site noise assessments, wherever the sites may be in the UK. Please call any of our offices to discuss how we can assist you with setting up a fixed fee framework agreement.
