Bridgwater Resource Recovery Facility

Project Details:

Inacoustic has provided its expertise to aid the establishment of an innovative and sustainable waste to energy site in Bridgwater, Somerset. This facility has the potential to process around 100,000 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel (RDF), sourced from commercial and municipal waste streams. The electricity generated from converting the RDF to steam, through use of a 9.5Mw steam powered turbine.

In particular, the development of this notable project was a challenging undertaking, particularly in respect to regulatory compliance and local community concerns. However, the team of skilled and experienced consultants from inacoustic applied their knowledge to assess the project's potential impact carefully, considering the complexities of the site, and to provide robust reassurance to the relevant authorities that the proposal would operate in harmony with local community standards.

The noise assessment involved several stages, including: Baseline noise monitoring, noise modelling, noise mapping and mitigation measures.
