Live At Scorrier House 2023

Live At Scorrier House is a one day live music event that takes place annually in Cornwall on the grounds of Scorrier House. The event comprises of one main stage world renowned headline acts booked each year. With noise sensitive receptors in lose proximity to the festival site it is important that the offsite noise levels are accurately monitored to ensure that the festival is compliant with local noise regulations and has a minimal impact on the nearby residents.
To ensure that noise levels are kept within acceptable limits, we designed a Noise Management Plan prior to the event. This plan details the steps that will be taken to minimise noise levels, including measures such as sound barriers, stage directionality and identifying the closest noise sensitive receptors. For this year, we then worked with the sound production company to ensure that the stage direct would cause the least amount of offsite impact with the PA system’s capabilities.
During the event, an inacoustic noise consultant was on-site taking spot measurements at noise sensitive receptors and informing the sound engineers on overall levels and specific frequencies that could have been problematic. Using remote-access sound level meters, we were able to give the sound engineers live feedback of the offsite levels on a screen at Front of House, allowing for instant changes to be applied if the levels started to creep up.
